The AMI Young Driver Insurance Promotion ("Promotion") is conducted by AMI, a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited ("AMI"), NZI Centre, 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. The following terms and conditions apply to the Promotion.
By participating in the Promotion, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Promotion commences on Wednesday 17 August 2022 and ends at 11:59 pm on Saturday 30 August 2025, unless it is ended earlier by AMI at its sole discretion ("Promotion Period").
Eligible consumer customers
a. are new or existing AMI Customers and either:
i. hold an AMI Full Cover Car Insurance, Third Party, Fire & Theft Car Insurance, Third Party Car Insurance policy (each an (“Eligible Consumer Policy”) in their own name; or
ii. are named as an under 25-year-old driver on an Eligible Consumer Policy;
b. are residents of New Zealand; and
c. have completed and passed the Core Skills Course available within the AMI Safe Driver Training course, provided by eDrive Solutions Limited, during the Promotion Period and before they turn 25 years old;
(Each an “Eligible Consumer Customer”).
Eligible business customers
a. are employees of new or existing AMI Business Customers who are registered in New Zealand and hold any AMI Business Vehicles Insurance policy (an “Eligible Business Policy”) in the business name;
b. drive a Business vehicle covered under an Eligible Business Policy;
c. are residents of New Zealand; and
d. have completed and passed the Core Skills Course available within the AMI Safe Driver Training course, provided by eDrive Solutions Limited, during the Promotion Period and before they turn 25 years old;
(Each an “Eligible Business Customer”).
a. the claim is due to an accident where the Eligible Consumer Customer or Eligible Business Customer is at fault;
b. the Eligible Consumer Customer or Eligible Business Customer is under 25 years old at the time of the at-fault accident; and
c. the at-fault accident occurred within 2 years of the Eligible Consumer Customer’s or Eligible Business Customer’s completion of the Core Skills Course within the AMI Safe Driver Training course.
d. Eligible Consumer Customers and Eligible Business Customers can renew the $250 excess reduction benefit after 2 years by purchasing and passing the Core Skills Course available within the AMI Safe Driver Training course, provided by eDrive Solutions Limited, during the Promotion Period and before they turn 25 years old.
The $250 reduction to the excess cannot be redeemed for cash, or any other type of refund.
To be eligible for the Promotion, the Eligible Consumer Customer or Eligible Business Customer must:
a. hold an Eligible Consumer Policy or Eligible Business Policy during the Promotion Period (if an Eligible Consumer Customer or Eligible Business Customer takes out multiple Eligible Consumer Policies or Eligible Business Policies, each of these policies will qualify for the Promotion); and
b. have paid, and AMI has received, the first payment of the premium for the Eligible Consumer Policy or Eligible Business Policy that the claim is made under and that Eligible Consumer Policy or Eligible Business Policy must be current at the time of the at-fault accident. Policies will not be current where they: (a) have been cancelled; (b) become void; or (c) where AMI has received notice to cancel the relevant policy.
AMI, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to discontinue or extend the Promotion, or amend any terms and conditions that apply to the Promotion, at any time without notice to any person for any reason. AMI will only do this where it considers it is reasonable to do so.
AMI’s decision on any matter regarding the Promotion will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Unless unable to be excluded by law, AMI and its related bodies corporate will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the Promotion.
AMI may use and disclose participants’ personal information to AMI’s agents or contractors for the purposes of conducting the Promotion and for marketing and promotional purposes. Participants have the right to access and correct their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 by contacting AMI in writing at 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland or by calling 0800 100 200.
